About Me
While originally from the Bay Area, California, I grew up in the small charming town of Horseheads, New York; just south of the Finger Lakes Wine Country in Upstate New York. With a often bliss-less childhood; spiritual growth, practice of introspection and my Quaker background led me to gain perspective and mental strength on who I was and who I wanted to be. Writing soon helped determine my identity. It shaped my creative soul and built a temple to express, de-stress and come alive.
After high school, I left New York and joined AmeriCorps NCCC*. For 10 months, I traveled around the Southwest region of the U.S. working for a variety of non-profits in areas of: Environmental Stewardship, Disaster Relief and Prevention, Infrastructure Improvements and Urban and Rural Development. After fulfilling my AmeriCorps commitment, I traveled and worked seasonally. In the winters, I worked at ski resorts in both California and Colorado as a Lead Lift Operator and a Ski School Coordinator. In the summers, I worked in Denali, Alaska as a Front Desk Supervisor for the largest hotel in the state. While in Alaska, I met my husband Mitch (married August 5th, 2018) whom was born and raised in Abilene, Texas. About 3 years ago we moved to Salt Lake City, Utah and are spending time enjoying all it has to offer before we continue to a new adventure. I am currently working on my general studies at Salt Lake Community College and looking to transfer to a University to complete a degree in Food Science. |
